When I first watched the e channel on Star Times and saw The Young and Restless, I thought to myself, have these guys gone insane or have they run out of programmes to air? However, it turned out that the popular soap opera was re-casted. There are several new faces but the plot of the soap opera remains the same, with more action, drama and scandal, leaving you desperate to know what follows. The Young and the Restless began airing on March 26, 1973, the fictional setting for the show after the real Genoa City, Wisconsin was located in Chicago at the annual summer vacation spot in Lake Geneva. It has won the category of Outstanding Drama Series for the Daytime Emmy Awards seven times. The American daytime drama is one of the longest airing television soap operas with the storyline mainly focusing on elegance, wealth, and the moral changes in America as well as family values.  The earlier The Young and the Restless centred on two core families, the wealthy Brooks’ and the poor Fosters, but the storyline that has changed several times over the years has always centred on the conflicts between two families. The conflict between Katherine Chancellor and Jill Foster Abbott has endured throughout nearly the entire run and is the longest lasting feud on any soap opera. Don’t miss it!
