AFTER hosting the auditions in various hotels of Kigali, the dance and sing talent search competition, named Dunderstar, is now set to hit the streets.This competition specifically aims at giving the young and talented a chance to try out their opportunities to shine.Praise Asimwe, one of the organisers of the contest, said the street auditions slated for tomorrow, November 29, in Nyamirambo, follow a  massive public awareness campaign to attract more contestants.Asimwe made the remarks on Saturday, during the third talent search competition that took place at Rainbow hotel in Kicukiro District."Just like we have always said before, there are more talents that have not got the chance to take part in the hotel stage competitions, so we still believe that when we go to the streets, many more will have to take part,” said Asimwe.She added that this would not only help the public to realise the talents young boys and girls have but that it will encourage many from the public to take part.Meanwhile, last Saturday’s audition was the most successful since the search competition started a few weeks ago. Although the event started late than usual (3p.m), due to the monthly communal work- Umuganda, it attracted a record-breaking crowd."I had not got the chance to attend the other competitions; I could not afford missing this one,” said one those who attended the competition.During the show, various artists performed to cheer up the contestants."Yes, dancers are really good, but when you consider what the singers have done, it also proves that they are far better,” said Aline Uwera, a student at Kigali Institute of Education.Among the singers were Teeta, Pacific and a group of three brothers. In addition to their good song selection, their vocal ability proved that they have what it takes to claim for the coveted win.Dancing groups still dominated the competition in attendance, and this time it was the Sniper group, Machinery that was made up of six dancers. With two female dancers, it is a fact that the group impressed not only the crowd but the judges.Other groups that performed include Sick Cit, Street Campers, Alice and Street Campuses, among others.
