BEN Affleck has urged US leaders to provide more aid to the people of war-torn Eastern Congo.The Argo director is the co-founder of the Eastern Congo Initiative, a group which calls for financial aid and support to the people of the African nation.Affleck appeared on ABC on Sunday (November 25) to discuss the group as well as to call on foreign powers to take a more active role in the region."There’s a huge amount that the US can do, frankly. I mean, we have a lot of levers there,” the star explained. "We can engage in the kind of high-level, shuttle diplomacy that you saw be so effective in Gaza.”Affleck went on to suggest that "progress is possible” in the region despite the fact that rebels took control of the city of Goma in recent days."[President Obama is] not unaware of this,” he insisted.
