Tour du Rwanda 2012 crowned with spectacular party

AFTER the spectacular Tour du Rwanda 2012 that ended on Sunday, cyclists who took part in the competition were hosted by Skol Brewery Ltd at a function held at T2000, a popular entertainment spot in Kigali.

AFTER the spectacular Tour du Rwanda 2012 that ended on Sunday, cyclists who took part in the competition were hosted by Skol Brewery Ltd at a function held at T2000, a popular entertainment spot in Kigali.The event was graced by Sports Minister,Protais Mitali.Dignitaries from various organisations attended the event, which included presenting certificates to sponsors and partners by the minister and Rwanda Cycling Federation chairman Aimable Bayingana.Bayingana thanked all the major sponsors for making the Tour du Rwanda successful and fans for their enthusiasm during the competition. Johan Desmet Van Damme, Skol Commercial Director, on his part, promised to be part of the sport every year."Tour du Rwanda has now become the biggest sporting event in Rwanda and we are proud to be part of this event,” said Van Damme.According to the organisers, this year’s Tour du Rwanda cost an estimated Rwf400million. At the event, Skol Rock Band enthralled the crowd with its unique sound – preserving the pace of Rwanda’s Old school music-Igisope.Cyclists and other guests enjoyed great live music, free Skol beer and snacks at the event. The night was organised by Showtime and MC Hervé Kimenyi of Comedy Knights kept patrons entertained with his great sense of humour.
