Talentum talent search competition is on. The premier platform for discovering local talent, Talentum gives aspiring musicians across the country, the opportunity to land a recording contract with some of the country’s leading studios, cash prizes as well as a chance to study music from Ecole la Musicale. "We continue to be blown away by the extraordinary talent in this country,” said Gaston Rurangwa, alias Skizzy, CEO of Talentum."We are confident that in the second season, we will continue to see the best talent the country has to offer, Talentum gives the perfect platform for potentials to showcase their gifts and talents,” he noted.Skizzy, also a member of Kigali Boys Group, said that entries from all categories of secular and Christian music will be accepted. "Our primary objective is to represent the vast array of musical styles. We invite submissions from all genres, including Gospel, Contemporary, Rock, Afrobeat, Rap/Hip-Hop and Folk.”Registrations for the Talentum, formerly Talent Detection, started last week and will end on December 5, 2012. Contestants are encouraged to register at the nearest Banque Populaire du Rwanda SA (BPR) and Commercial Bank of Rwanda (BCR) branches. Entries are accepted from only sole contenders. To qualify, the contestant has to perform an acapela and they are allowed to bring along one musical instrument to accompany.Entrants must be 15 years of age or older. Music experts from Rwanda’s music industry will judge the performances and select the finalists. The glamorous awards evening will be held on January 5, 2013 at the Private Sector Federation's Expo Grounds in Gikondo.
