Government has hired experts to help in advancing the initiative of offering services online.

This was said on Friday, September 07 at a meeting between the experts, designer fraternity and the management of Rwanda Revenue Authority at RRA’s new headquarters in Kimihurura.

Specialists from Monito; a recognized Design Company from Netherlands is working with the government agency; Rwanda Development Gateway (RDG) to implement the initiative.

The RDG Coordinator of Business and Strategy Jacob Gahamanyi said they are partnering with Monito to realize the ‘Online services’ project.

 "Some government services have been put online, but we are also looking into making them more effective,” Gahamanyi said.

Lars Rengersen, one of the directors, said they are here to help in restructuring the process of the project.

"We are helping to introduce new concepts and experiences for the products (services) for effectiveness,” Rengersen said.

Gahamanyi added that the experts have kicked off the project with developing the of (RRA) website. "We want institutions to offer their services online in not only a customer oriented style but also in a corporate style.”

 "Tax services, e-filing of application forms and other services offered by RRA will be online,” he said. Adding; "This will reduce long ques that always choke the system”.

He said however, that RDG targets all government institutions to adopt online services but insisted that services should be offered in an appealing manner.

The experts aim at developing well designed portals which will create emotional experiences but very attractive, user-friendly and accessible to the target clients.

Information Communication Technologies have been realized to be with an unexplored potential to improve the economic productivity and quality of life the Rwandan citizens.

RDG also develops websites for all government n institutions including the president’s portal. Rwanda designers’ fraternity is being incorporated with the specialists to share experiences in the business.
