THE management of La Palisse Hotels Club House has refuted reports that four Amavubi players suffered food poisoning at the hotel before the team was relocated to Umubano Hotel early this week.The hotel’s Director General Augustin Mukezangabo told Times Sport on a guided tour of the hotel yesterday that they offer top class service to all clients and that the concern of poor hygienic standards is "baseless”."None of the players suffered from food poisoning as it was reported in the media. If it was food poisoning, the whole team would have been affected. Those four (players) suffered from typhoid and malaria as proved by the medical team,” he said.Mukezangabo noted that, "The affected players fell sick a day after returning from their homes after the Namibia friendly match, and for the sake of containing the sickness, I suggested to the Ministry of Sports and Ferwafa that the team is transported to Umubano hotel.”"The team’s menu is always suggested by their staff and we take caution in preparing and serving their meals,” Mukezangabo told Times Sport.The affected players included, Emery Bayisenge, Michel Rusheshangoga, Barnabé Mubumbyi and Djabir Mutarambirwa.The national cycling team, which is participating in the Tour du Rwanda, is camping at the hotel.
