There should be freedom of worship

Dear editor,

It’s appalling to see and observe the harsh punishments given to non Moslems living in Moslem countries. I thought when people prayed, they prayed to a God who understands the differences in the choices made by people concerning what religion they want.

Killing or imprisoning those who decide to become Christians is unacceptable and wrong. In North Africa and Arabian countries, Christian converts are harshly punished just because of the choices they make.

These countries should take a look at Israel which has been able to accommodate various religions in one place. The Jews, Moslems and Christians dwell in the same city and they freely worship without killing each other.

The war they fight with Palestine for example is not a religious war. In the same sense Moslem countries should live peacefully with people of other religions and this shows that they understand that love for others is the fundamental element to achieving peace.
