The first time a heard about the word swimming pool was at school. One day at break time as we were playing, I happened to hear pupils from P.2 telling stories of how they went and ate chips, rice and chicken near the swimming pool.

Ha … when I heard them talking about rice, chips and chicken, I opened my ears. These people are talking about my favourite dish…! I said in my mind.

I immediately left what I was doing and sat near them in order to know the place which gives free chips, rice and chicken.

But as soon as I placed my buttocks down to listen to the story the bell rung and we all rushed into our classes.
While in the class, I couldn’t here what the teacher was teaching, my mind was on the free chips, rice and chicken my friends were talking about.

During the lesson I was so impatient, I was only longing for the bell to ring and ask my friends were I could find the swimming pool that gives free rice, chips and chicken.

I really wanted to go there, I was missing that delicious dish of mine. The time of going home reached but I couldn’t find my friends.

I felt bad but went home and told daddy to give me a favour and take me to a swimming pool that gives children free delicious rice, chip and chicken.

When daddy had a bout that, he laughed and laughed at me and said that I had got the statement wrong. He told me that there’s no swimming pool that gives free delicious rice, chips and chicken to children.

He instead told me that some parents take their children to go and have their meals besides swimming pools.

It is when I realised that swimming can be done in a more relaxed manner than any other sport.

Do you know what? After I talked to daddy, he promised to take me to a swimming pool not only to swim but eat chips, rice and chicken.
