Whenever I visit Rwanda, I am always shocked and disappointed to see Rwandans buying groceries at a super market and at a premium price when they can buy higher quality products at a lower price next door. It really disturbs me. It seems people overvalue short-term personal gains of being "seen” by others shopping in supermarkets and undervalue long-term gains of helping the local economy grow. The growing African middle class needs to reinvest at least 0.70 cents of every franc earned into the local/national economy, otherwise I am afraid western people will brainwash our people to value their products over ours, and we’ll end up like African Americans who spent millions bragging and buying jewelleryLoic Rossi Karinda
