Four players have been dropped from the junior national basketball currently undergoing intensive training ahead of the Zone V championship slated for June 2-15 in, Kampala, Uganda.

The remaining sixteen players have continued the drills under the supervision of two national coaches at Amahoro indoor stadium ahead of the two week event.

The team was trimmed from the initial 20 players who started the training in late March.

The Zonal tournament was scheduled to take place in April but was shifted to June by the Ugandan basketball federation.

According to national coach, Kavedzija Veceslav, the team is in good shape for the event.

The sixteen are part of the lager group that was selected from the 500 players who took part in the national talent search that was held last year.

"The final team of 12 players will be disclosed close to the event,” said Prosper Mihigo, the Assistant coach, adding that the dropped players should be on stand-by in case of any injury.
