LEAGUE champions, APR and former champions Kigali Volleyball Club have been drawn together in the group stages of the Malaria tournament which starts on Saturday.The two archrivals rivals, who are in Group A along with this year’s league runners-up Lycee de Nyanza Volleyball Club, will play in Nyanza District when the first phase gets underway.Despite drawing against the best two teams in the country, KVC coach, Jean Marie Nsengiyumva is confident his team can defy odds and progress to the knockout stage. "It is a tricky group with the best two teams in the country, but we are doing the preparations well and I believe will do well in this tournament,” said the former national team setter. "It is not going to be easy for us because we have a young team but we will be there and compete,” he admitted.He added, "We don’t want to take any chances; we must prepare well and put on a brave fight and see where we will reach.” KVC last win was Coupe du Rwanda in 2006 after beating APR 3-2 in final.Group B compromises, National University of Rwanda, Kigali Instutite of Education, EWSA, while Group C has Kibungo Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Education (INATEK), Groupe Scolaire Officiel de Butare and Karongi.In the women category, Group A includes APR, Rubavu and Kicukiro, Group B has Rwanda Revenue Authority, Rwamagana and INATEK, while Ruhango, Musanze and Muhanga make up Group C.
