Marcel Byusa had every reason to smile on Sunday after lifting the May Mützig monthly mug, his first honor of the season.

Despite wobbling eleven strokes on hole number four, the handicap 14 golfer shot 38 on the back nine including a birdie on hole number eleven to bag the May monthly mug.

The Kigali Golf Club captain finished off with 75 net, two shots clear of his immediate contender. After the day’s victory, Byusa said, "It’s good to win after a long time.”

"I won today because I did not panic. I hassled on hole number four but kept my composure and focus,” he added.

Andre Tanner scored 76 net to top the handicap (18-28) group while Linda Mugeni shot 74 net to top the ladies category.

Despite all these performances, it was Esther Mukagasana who stole the show after playing four shots under at the par 72 golf course.

The lady golfer who was challenging a number of national team golfers in the semi-professional category shot 41 on the front nine and 43 on the back nine although she failed to sink a birdie.

"I haven’t played like this in a long time so this is good for me. My swing was very fine today,” a contended Mukagasana said.
