Three minutes driving from the heart of Kigali city, lies Ma Colline Fast Foods Restaurant, another of Kigali’s finest eateries. The restaurant is situated on Kalisimbi road just opposite T2000 Super Market, in a safely protected hide out.

AMBIENCE:

The 100 guest restaurant is well equipped with a modern kitchen and dining, and serves a combination of traditional and exotic flavours of locally produced vegetables.

The vermilion walls, a classic sitting arrangement with sparkling white and maroon décor of locally made materials all signal a sense of high respect to hygiene and occasions sadly missing in so many eateries.

The Coffee terrace overlooking Kigali hills offers optical nutrition to revellers who frequent the venue.

THE MENU:

Ma Colline restaurant serves both fast foods for take-away and the traditional African buffet on a daily routine.

The menu includes French delicacies (such as orange duckling, seafood casserole, baked guinea fowl, puff pastry, terrines, croquettes, rabbit pie); specialities of smoked ham, home-made goose liver and home-made pasta, fresh water crayfish, prawns and shrimps, squid as well as a selection of traditional and modern saucers.

The buffet includes a choice of at least five starters, seven main dishes and desserts, all left to the taste of the diner.

The cuisine makes its own rules, featuring kataifi-wrapped kingklip with herring caviare and grilled scallops with lemon foam, a black Oreo mascarpone pudding seasoned with toffee sauce, coffee crust and Amaretto perfume.

The restaurant also serves pizza, with pepper and shito sauce complete with fried fillets. The pizza is marinated and stuffed with ginger and garlic mix garnished with fresh tomato and onion.

Trying out the giant grilled hamburger dressed with plantain salad and the tiger prawns, leaves one’s hunger-raised-appetite catered for.

BEVERAGES:

The restaurant opted for soft drinks only which include Fanta, The au café; African Tea, Chocolate, Jus de Fruit a gashya, Jus de Fruit Inyange Eau minerale, Red bull and fresh fruit juice.

THE GOOD POINTS:

The Coffee terrace with a view of Kigali’s hills offers guests a cool evening cocktail in a relaxed setting.

THE BAD POINTS:

None that we noticed.

THE STAFF:

Well gender-balanced, qualified and dedicated; they will not spare a minute before attending to you.

Their motto runs, "You will enjoy our quality services delivered with pleasure!”

THE CROWD AND TALK:

Both Rwandans and Foreigners with a lean and hungry look, regularly flock the restaurant to dine as they discuss the state of the world.

THE PRICES:

Affordable by almost every one, with the buffet running for as low as Frw1500, and beverages served at Frw150 and Frw200 only.

THE TOILETS:

They are the flashy type that cater for all and indeed very clean.

Other services

The restaurant also provides out side catering services; bridal dinners, graduation, birth day, and anniversary parties among others.

With a porch space of MTN service centre adjacent to Ma Colline fast food restaurant, there is enough room for communication needs.
