Hip-hop freshmen Camp Mulla will be part of a ‘stunning’ line-up of African artistes at the Channel O Music Video Awards, which takes place in Soweto, Johannesburg this month.The four-some who have an equal number of nominations at the awards will be performing at the Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto.They will be sharing the same stage as Nigerians Ice Prince, Davido and Mo Cheddah, and Dr Malinga, Khuli Chana and DJ Zinhle from South Africa.The action kicks off at 9pm on November 17, and Kenyans will be anxious to know if any of their own has won.Camp Mulla, Habida, Wyre, and Madtraxx are among the Kenyan names hoping to break the trend where the East African country has left the awards ceremony empty handed.Voting for the nominees closes at midnight on Thursday, and voting can be done on www.channelo.com.During an interview on Capital FM, the Camp Mullans appealed to Kenyans to pick up their phones or go to the website to launch a serious voting campaign that will see them win as many awards as possible.Apart from the Grammy-award winning Soweto Gospel Choir, all the other performers are up for an award.SA Hip-hop head Pro, Botswana rapper Zeus, Ghana’s lyrical fire starter M.anifest, Black Motion and Mi Casa will also be performing.The maestro of Kwaito beats who puts the Midas touch on any song he touches, aka Oskido, will be feted with a Special Recognition Award.
