Mutarambirwa finally receives Amavubi call

Djabir Mutarambirwa has been added to the Amavubi Stars’ team which started preparations for the international friendly match against Namibia on November 11 and Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Kampala, Uganda later this month.The impressive SC Kiyovu midfielder, whose last call up to the national team was in 2007 during the Cecafa Challenge Cup finals held in Tanzania, is part of the 24-man squad which was called by Serbian coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojovic on Sunday.The national team is regrouping for the training camp with two phases of preparations. Phase 1 will start from November 5 to 14 when Amavubi host Namibia, while phase 2 will start from November 15 to November 22 before the team’s departure for the Cecafa Cup.The 24-man squad includes six foreign based players namely; Solomon Nirisarike (Antwerp), Stephen Kunduma (Vietnam), Elias Uzamukunda (AS Cannes), Charles Tibingana (Victoria University), Eric Gassana (Yanga FC) and Haruna Nyonzima (Yanga FC). "The reporting of foreign players will depend on when they will be released from their clubs,” Micho told Times Sport.Apart from Mutarambirwa, Rayon Sport striker Jerome Sina returns to the fold after missing the first leg of Namibia on disciplinary grounds he exhibited during the team’s North African training camp.While there, Amavubi lost to Libya, Tunisia and drew against Chad in friendly matches and also lost to Algeria in the 2014 World Cup qualifier.Provisional Squad: Goalkeepers: Jean Claude Ndoli (APR), Marcel Nzarora (Rayon Sport, Jean Luc Ndayishimiye (APR).Defenders: Hamdan Bayiranga (APR), Michel Rusheshangoga (APR), Frederick Ndaka (Police), Mwemere Ngirinshuti (AS Kigali), Emery Bayisenge (APR), Ismail Nshutiyamagara (APR), Fabrice Twagizimana (Police), Niyikiza Aimable (SC Kiyovu).Midfielders: Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza (APR), Tumaine Ntamuhanga (APR), Jean Damour Uwimana (Police), Imran Nshimiyimana (Police), Eric Nsabimana (APR), Djabir Mutarambirwa (SC Kiyovu), Farouk Ruhinda (APR), Iranzi Jean Claude (APR).Strikers: Jerome Sina (Rayon Sport), Emmanuel Sebanani (Mukura), Barnabe Mubumbyi (APR), Gahonzire Olave (SC Kiyovu) and Jimmy Mbaraga (AS Kigali).
