Midfielder Samuel Gueulette says his aim is to reciprocate his great form at club level to the fold of the Rwanda national team ahead of Sunday’s decisive AFCON Qualifier against Mozambique at Huye Stadium. .
Gueulette had a great 2022/23 season with Belgian third tier side Raal La Louviere, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 29 games although his club missed out on promotion to the second division in the last minute.
The talented central midfielder said that he was elated to be back to the national team and he vowed to give his best in Sunday&039;s must-win qualifier against the Mambas.

"It feels really great to be back. Last time I played for the team was two years ago so it’s been a while. I am just honored and proud to be back with the selection and ready to give everything for the country," the youngster told Weekend Sport in an interview.
Despite his individual output, Gueulette is yet to digest the club’s slip on second tier promotion.
" I had a good but long season with my club. It is just a pity we finished just short of promotion,” the midfielder said.
Gueulette is a versatile player who can play different positions in midfield. He has a good technique and he likes to play simple football to make the team play.
Commenting on Sunday's game against Mozambique, Gueulette said that Amavubi have no alternative but to go for a victory which he believes the team is very determined to achieve.

"We have no choice but to win against Mozambique. We know it is our job to do so. We are working really hard in training to be ready on Sunday. I know the team will give everything," he said.
Born in Kigali to a Belgian father and a Rwandan mother, Gueulette grew up in the European country but chose to represent Rwanda and has featured from the U20 national team up to the senior level.
