RWANDA Amateur Boxing Association (Raba) remains uncertain whether they will send a team to this year’s AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships, to be held in Yerevan from November 25 to December 8.The Raba technical director Gashugi Kananura, who also doubles as the national team head coach said on Sunday that they are yet to make any decision regarding the championship."We were supposed to meet last week to make a final decision on this issue but we didn’t. Hopefully this week we will be able to come up with a final stand,”"We have not assembled any national team but the boxers are training regularly in their respective clubs,” the veteran trainer told Times Sport.The AIBA Youth World Championships held every two years, began in 1979 in Yokohama, Japan. Formerly called the AIBA World Cadet Championships, the AIBA Youth World Championships is the most prestigious event for young boxers of 17- 18 years-old.Welcoming international athletes in 11 weight categories, the AIBA Youth World Championships allow boxers to compete against the best in their division with hopes of international stardom. The AIBA Youth World Championships Weight Categories are as follows: 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 91kg, +91kg (This is the same as the AIBA World Championships categories).
