The 26-year-old, Masauso Nkhoma, alias Ruff Kid has beaten D'Banji, Zahara, Camp Mulla, Cover Drive and Grace Galaxy to bag home the Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television and Arts (BEFFTA) UK award in the Best International Act category-becoming the second Zambian to win the award after Chisenga Kato, aka Crisis.The BEFFTA awards are special awards ceremony honouring the best showbiz and entertainment personalities in the black and ethnic communities in the UK, USA, Caribbean, Africa, Canada and globally.The 4th annual 2012 BEFFTA awards took place in London, recently, at a glittering Red Carpet ceremony attended by personalities in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts industries around the globe.Among the stars on the night were Sir Trevor McDonald, singer Lemar, footballer Fabrice Muamba, singer and X Factor star Star-boy Nathan and many more.Jamaican and Reggae Dancehall star Sean Paul also won in the ‘Best International Caribbean Act’.The winners were decided by Internet votes from all over the world and the publicity that Ruff Kid received from the Zambians all over the world helped the eccentric rapper to beat the other nominees in the ‘Best International Act’ category and walked away with over K 15 million."Ba Zambia we have done it, the Best International Act BEFFTA award 2012 goes to us.
