THE 2013 CAVB Youth and Junior Championships might be held in Kigali after Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) withdrew from hosting the championships citing high charges of ‘hiring Kasarani gymnasium’.The tournament is expected to be hosted in January 2013. The Rwanda volleyball federation’s technical director Christian Hategikimana said yesterday, "We have requested to host the Africa Youth Championships but CAVB is yet to make any official response.”Kenya’s volleyball chairman Waithaka Kioni has stated that, "Charges of hiring the Kasarani facilities are way too expensive. Taking our teams to Uganda or Rwanda would be cost effective than us playing hosts.” The withdrawal of Kenya leaves Uganda and Rwanda as possible venues for the Championships which the continental body (CAVB) wants held in January 2013.
