Midfielder Jimmy Mulisa has no hopes of playing for Rwanda in the ongoing 2010 World Cup /African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Speaking to Times Sport yesterday, the Belgium based professional admitted that the groin injury he sustained in a league match for his former club FC Hamme league match last month means he can’t get back to full fitness any time soon.

"Because of this injury, I am three weeks away from returning to full training. Right now, I can only train about 50 percent.

"And with qualifiers coming in quick succession I need to be 100 percent fit. After I am fully fit, my country as well as my new club (Roeselare) will enjoy the best of my services” Mulisa said.

But all hope is not lost for the former APR star who hopes to be fit and ready in time for the last two qualifiers against Mauritania (away) and Ethiopia (at home).

Rwanda plays away to Mauritania on September 7 in Nouakchott in the second leg before winding up their campaign with a home game against Ethiopia on October 12.

Mulisa completed his move from second division club FC Hamme to Premier league club K.S.V. Roeselare.

The 25-year-old has been offered a two year deal with an option of a third depending on his appearances and performances.

Mulisa joins compatriot Henri Munyaneza in the Belgian top flight. Munyaneza plays for FC Dender. The pair was not among the professional summoned for last Saturday’s qualifier against Mauritania but Mulisa was in the crowd to cheer on his colleagues.
