The American fantasy TV series The Vampire Diaries premiered its fourth season on October 11, 2012, a few days before the third season’s finale. I don’t want to spoil anything for the ardent readers of Women Today; so I will just give you a hint of season four. Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) is now a vampire trying to cope with her new self. Season three is entirely about the linage of the original vampires and how they can be killed as well as the love triangle involving Elena and the Salvatore brothers.  Despite Niklaus Mikaelson a.k.a Klaus (Joseph Morgan)’s thirst to create hybrids (vampires and werewolves), his family of the original vampires come to life and are all too ambitious to stay or survive in Mystic Falls. The third season ends when Elena and Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) are in a car crash and she has a flashback of her parents dying in the car. She tells Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) that she chooses his brother Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) although she wishes she had met him (Damon) before falling in love with Stefan; she probably would be in love with him. Stefan comes to save Matt and Elena, instead Elena signals him to save Matt first, dying in the process.  Doctor Meredith Fell (Torrey DeVitto) reveals to Damon that Elena wasn’t suffering from a concussion, but instead she was bleeding in the brain and to save her, she had to inject her with vampire blood.
