The albums to be released in October are: "Narinarakubyiye and "Best of Masamba.

”They are collections of his old songs, but still popular.

Two months after the release of his albums and video at the Prime Holdings, Masamba is expected to stage a show at the Petit stadium.

New Teens magazine coming out

After the rise and fall of the Blink Magazine, another one is set to hit the streets of Kigali City.

Our scouts say the magazine to be launched early December is owned by former Radio presenter and Focus Newspaper reporter Olivier Ndayisaba a.k.a Nasty Lee.

Nasty Lee who left Radio Flash early this year is also the man behind the advertising website www.proudly-rwandan.com.

The magazine comes in after the popular Blink Magazine faded out amid allegations of financial mismanagement.

Our scouts tell us that when they had gone to print the magazine from Kenya, they delayed the issue which didn’t go down well with the advertisers in addition to poor printing.

However, the name of the magazine is not known. We are told Lee is still consulting. Hope it stands the taste of time.

Battle of beauty contests!

After defying all odds and holding the first beauty contest in the country last year, the National University of Rwanda was at it again this year.

According to our scouts, although this year’s contest was a success, many people didn’t appreciate the way it was organised.

Many students are angered by the fact that most winning candidates come from EPLM or first year.

Reigning Miss Campus Karine Rusaro Utamiliza, Sharon Akanyana and their predecessors all came from year one section.

Students claim that first years don’t know much about the University. Beside, they are not mature enough to behave exemplary to the youths.

Word has it that a secret committee is being set up by those who didn’t appreciate the way the concert was organised, so that they start up their contest which they hope will outshine the current contest.

Bebe Cool nominated for Mobo Awards

The popular Music of Black Origin (MOBO) awards are back with the nominees list out but packed with Black musicians who reside in the UK.

MOBO awards appreciate musicians who make their music particular to the African taste and garner worldwide success.

Uganda’s Bebe Cool is the only East African artist who was nominated for the Best African act category alongside Nigeria’s Tu Face Idibia DBanj, Kenya’s Nameless, Malawi’s Wambali Mkandawire and South Africa’s Kabelo.

The awards will take place on the 19th of September at O2 Arena, North Greenwich Underground in London.

Guest performers will include 50 Cent, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, Mutya Buena, Craig David & Kano among others.

Sonia Rolland modelling agency

Former Miss France, Sonia Rolland, a Rwandan by birth and a France national, plans to set up a modelling agency starting early next year. The agency will groom Rwanda’s future models.

Snoops say the agency under her stewardship is aiming at changing the public’s perception that models have no morals.

This will be the second of such agencies after one setup by Dady De Maximo Mwicira Mitari.

Are we about to see Rwandan models gracing the fashion stages of Paris and New York? Keep your ears to the ground.
