If you want my biography, just ask!

I have failed to understand people who feel it is their sworn duty to butt into everyone’s business – everyone’s but their own! On many occasions, I am beaten by the confidence an individual has when describing another person’s life, as if they are conjoined twins!I was once given a detailed account of my life by a girl who felt after having a drink with me a couple of times, she had figured me all out. I sat there listening to her, watching her add every emotion to every story, wondering what was in it for her. Okay, I have to admit that some of the stuff she said was entertaining and maybe even flattering. But not for long...Things got so ugly when she asked me to explain the ‘not-so-appropriate’ parts of the story that at one point, the grip I had on her hair, sorry...weave, was so concrete, I ripped off a handful when I was eventually pulled away from her. I know I said I don’t fight, but trust me, she had it coming. The girl was yapping nothing but tripe and yet she wanted an explanation? Was she serious?I know gossip can be juicy, but you see; when you insist on telling a person what you think you know about them or what you’ve heard, make sure you have your facts right. Better yet, keep it to yourself and enjoy every minute of secretly knowing ‘something’ about someone.I know one too many people who just can’t seem to mind their own business. The funny thing is that, they are great at analyzing everyone else around them, conveniently excluding their own story. Not that I’m interested, but if you are going to talk about things you think you know, you might want to start with yourself. The world is moving pretty fast, I don’t understand how anyone can engage in such lazy chat. But, if you are itching to get someone’s biography, kindly let them know so that they can give you more reliable facts. I read a post on Facebook that said, ‘If you have something to say to someone, do it to their face and not behind their back, or they will hear the remixed version from someone else.’ Sure, the girl whose weave got damaged by my grip gave me the courtesy of a face to face confrontation, but she wasn’t asking me...she was telling me! And I have a serious problem with being told things I’m not!
