Editor,Reference is made to the 2013 World Bank Doing Business Report, which again ranked Rwanda as the easiest place to do business in East Africa and third best business destinations in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is great news for our country. I know Rwanda will continue to lead from the front. It is a well known fact that Rwanda, after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, was virtually written off for good. The world cannot believe what this country has achieved in such a short period. The dramatic turnaround over the last 18 years, under the leadership of President Paul Kagame and other Rwandans has left the world shocked. It’s not only in doing business but the country is now more united and been able to heal the wounds caused by the Genocide perpetrators. Wishing the country and her warm and friendly people continued success in the years ahead.Teta, Nyagatare
----------------------------------------Editor,We are happy for this ranking but officials at Rwanda Development Board (RDB) ought to be more careful when registering companies wishing to do business in Rwanda. We are now victims of those who find it easier to do business in Rwanda. A good example is DN International. And RDB is just proud of being ranked highly but not going in the field to verify what those so-called investors are doing! Wake up, RDB.France, Kigali -------------------------------------------Editor,We deserve this. I thank our government for the good leadership but the journey is still very long and needs hard work and consistency, honesty and coordination in whatever we do.VMY, Kigali I am proud of my country and its leadership. Komeza imihigo Rwanda nziza. Innocent Kabenga, Dakar(Reaction to the story, Rwanda ranked third in global business, The New Times, October 24).
