FridayAPR        vs     SimbaPrimus National Football League champions APR FC will play Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) club, Simba, in a friendly match this Friday at Amahoro stadium. It will be the first meeting between the two military sides.According to APR Secretary general, Adolphe Kalisa, the match will be played to mark the closure of the Ushirikiano Imara 2012 military exercise, which has been ongoing at Rwanda Military Academy in Gako and Lake Kivu Serena Hotel in Rubavu District. APR is second on the league standings, while Simba won the Uganda Cup last year. The 13-time Rwandan league champions have changed their policy by using only young Rwandan players after releasing all foreign players. Kalisa also confirmed, "Because of the game against Simba, our league match against Rayon Sport has been postponed to another date.” Initially, the two archrivals were scheduled to meet this weekend in the Primus league, their first clash since Rayon relocated back to Nyanza at the start of the season. The military exercise, which has brought together 1,680 armed forces personnel and civilians from the region, is aimed at improving the capabilities of EAC partner states’ armed forces to combat complex security challenges that might besiege the bloc. Bombo-based Simba lost their last match to league leaders Maroons 3-1 in the Bell Super League on Saturday.
