Former Miss Uganda: Attracting the attention of all.

NUR beauty pageant – a shambles!

This was total embarrassment. The recent beauty contest for Miss National University of Rwanda (NUR) seemed to go from bad to worse.

It all started with one beauty contestant modeled in a torn outfit. She just about got away with it – many thought it was a fashion statement.

Matters were made worse when the former Miss Campus, Sandra Uwimbabazi, appeared on stage in shoes several sizes too big for her.

It was obvious to anyone that she was uncomfortable - her feet were almost jumping out of the shoes as she struggled to balance her movements.

Another contestant was asked to name Rwanda’s foreign affairs and regional cooperation minister. Who if I’m not mistaken is Rose Museminari NOT Charles Murigande.

As if that was not embarrassing enough, another contestant, one Mugeni Jennine Dominique, confidently modeled with an MTN bandana tired upside down around her chest.

No wonder, Daddy de Maximo, president of the jury, had no choice but to disappointedly admit that the contest did not go well - no single contestant scored above 50 per cent!

Tom Close’s music captures international airwaves

This is really good news. One of our upcoming local musicians, Tom Close is said to be climbing the heights of international music scenes.

Latest is that the singer is not only celebrated in this country, but beyond boarders and his music is now played on international airwaves, like on the Voice of America and on other regional radio stations.

A source reveled to us that the first-year medical student at the National University of Rwanda is busy developing his talent alongside his hectic schedule of studies.

Miss Chanelle in demand

Butare’s most celebrated female singer is attracting attention left, right and centre. Miss Chanelle was spotted with a guy literally begging for her autograph.

"Oh Miss, please, I beg you kindly sign for me your autograph!”

The previously poised gentleman was almost on his knees!Meanwhile, Miss Chanelle’s male companion looked set to punch the guy for getting to close.
