Seoul: South Korea- President Kagame arrived in Seoul Friday at the beginning of a two-day official visit of the Republic of Korea. Shortly after arrival, he visited Human Resources Development Service of Korea and toured its various training facilities. Kagame thanked the government agency for the support it currently extends to the Government of Rwanda and said that Rwanda was keen to work with and learn from Korea and effectively implement lessons from the country’s successful transformation of its skill base.

Kagame thanked the government agency for the support it currently extends to the Government of Rwanda and said that Rwanda was keen to work with and learn from Korea and effectively implement lessons from the country’s successful transformation of its skill base.
President Kagame met with the CEO of Korea Telecom, Mr Dr. Yong-Kyung Lee where they discussed the company’s work of laying fibre optics and developing wi-pro in Rwanda, and ways to strengthen partnership with the communications giant.
On Friday evening, the President hosted a dinner for members of the Korean private sector, including members of the Korea-Rwanda Business Association.
In his remarks at the dinner, Kagame said the new Rwanda was characterised by a spirit of resilience and working towards a more prosperous future.
He pointed out that the visit to South Korea was an opportunity to learn, strengthen existing friendship, and create new productive partnerships that would lead to profitable business relationships as well socioeconomic growth and improved lives for Rwandans.
He acknowledged Korean companies already working in Rwanda and invited more to follow suit.
Today, President Kagame will hold bilateral talks with President Lee Myung-bak at the Blue House and attend an official luncheon held in honour of his visit.
