Washington David Bangit has confirmed to The New Times that he has joined the first season of DundaStar Talent Search.The Ugandan music director, song producer, instrumentalist and singer, who has produced songs for some of Uganda and East Africa’s leading musicians, is the TV show’s first confirmed judge-he would be joined by other celebrities.Washington is a popular music producer and has worked with various stars in the region, including Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone, Goodlyfe duo of Moses Radio and Weasel TV, Cindy and Kid Fox. In Rwanda, Washington has worked with Kitoko, Urban Boyz, Riderman and Allioni."I am excited to be part of this revolution”, Washington told The New Times on phone. "I am happy that Rwandans are finally recognising talent and giving it the respect it deserves.”Dundastar Talent Search will kick off in November, and will traverse the three districts of Kigali, where persons above 15 years of age will have an opportunity to showcase their singing and dancing talents in front of a selected panel of judges. The winners in both categories would walk away with cash prizes and a recording contract with Washington.The show will air on RTV every week. "It is high time we stopped looking at music and dance as something for the uneducated, but a form of education itself.
