Turatsinze, a former Rwanda Development Bank (BRD) boss was found dead in Maputo after he had gone missing for two days.Rwanda’s envoy to South Africa Vincent Karega in an e-mail to The New Times said the deceased had talked to his wife by telephone before he went missing but sounded like somebody who was disturbed.Karega said police in Maputo is yet to make a statement on the matter.The family of Turatsinze who many described as a peaceful man is yet to come to terms with his death. Jeanette Niwemugeni, a niece to late Turatsinze described him as a peaceful person who had a passion for his country."..Most Rwandans who lived or transited through Maputo can attest to his love for fellow countrymen,” Jeanette Niwemugeni said on phone last evening.Niwemugeni added that arrangements are underway to bring the body back home, adding that a decision has been taken to have the deceased buried in Rwanda."But the arrival of the body will depend on when police in Maputo is done with the investigations and a postmortem report. The body is still a subject of police investigation,” she added.Niwemugeni who struggled with words said her 38-year-old uncle who is survived by a widow and no children was set to open his own university in Maputo and was a consultant with several financial firms.Turatsinze has been living in Mozambique since 2010Monday. The deceased is said to have gone missing on Friday last week after parting with a delegation of investors who he had dropped off at a hotel.The motive behind the killing is yet to be established. His body was discovered tied with ropes and floating in a lake.
