APR women volleyball club head coach Viateur Sibomana is confident his team will win this year’s Carré d’As tournament scheduled for this weekend. The defending league champions started preparations late ahead of final competition of the season, which brings together the top four teams in both the women and men’s leagues. However, Sibomana, despite the late preparations, is confident about his team’s chances of reclaiming the title from rivals Rwanda Revenue Authority. APR men won the men’s title."We started our preparations late but still I have faith in my team to do well. The players have enough experience of playing in big tournaments so I trust them to rise to the occasion,” the former Blue Tigers skipper told this paper on Monday. This year’s tournament, which has been postponed on more than two occasions, will be used to collect money to contribute towards the Agaciro Development Fund.Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA), APR, Ruhango and St Alloys Rwamagana will battle for the women’s title, while the men’s category has APR, Lycée de Nyanza, National University of Rwanda (NUR) and INATEK.FRVB is the third sports federation, after Ferwafa (football) and Ferwaba (basketball), to organise a competition to raise money for the national cause.
