RAYON Sport must wait until the January transfer window to sign defender Etienne Karekezi and playmaker Cedric Amisi, according to Ferwafa. It comes after Rayon failed to get the necessary documents from the selling clubs in time before the transfer deadline on September 8.According to Rayon Sport Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya, they will wait for January regarding Karekezi but as far as Amisi is concerned, he has been their player since last season."We understand when they say Karekezi cannot play for us until January, but for Amisi, it is a different case since we have sorted out that issue with his team (Atletico), and they have even apologised to us for the mistakes committed in handling his case,” Gakwaya told Times Sport. He added, "They (Ferwafa) have told us that they will first contact FIFA regarding Amisi but we are not worried at all because he is our player.” Ferwafa’s Secretary General Michel Gasingwa said it is the (transfer) system and not the federation that Rayon should blame for not being able to sign the two players before the next transfer window."In Burundi, two teams (Atletico and Nyange) are complaining about Amisi, therefore we must wait until they sort out their issues then we will give him the full documents,” said Gasingwa.Amisi’s case is complicated by the fact that he originally belonged to Nyange, who loaned him to Atletico, who also loaned him to Rayon last season—Nyange claim they are owed a percentage of any transfer fees that Rayon pays to Atletico for the player, yet the later are adamant to the idea.Meanwhile, Amavubi Stars midfielder Hussein Sibomana finally joined the Blues last Friday after spending the last two months in his native DR Congo.Rayon, who returned to their original home base, have made the worst start to a league campaign in the club’s history after losing their first three games before securing their first points of the season with a narrow 1-0 away win against Marines last week thanks to Burundian international Fuadi Ndayisenga.
