KAMPALA - Zambia Coach Herve Renard has consoled his counterpart Uganda Cranes coach Bobby Williamson who has once again been involved in a case of so near yet so far.The hosts took the lead before the half hour mark via Geoffrey Masaba to force the match to go into post-match penalties where the African champions emerged victorious 9-8 after Patrick Ochan missed his spotkick."I have no idea what I’d tell Coach Bobby Williamson because this is a heartbreaking defeat for them. It’s always hard for the team to lose on penalties but we know when it comes to that, we always excel over our opponents.”"We tried our best in this match and it is a good thing we are done with qualifiers, it was harsh but the finals are a big tournament and everybody has a chance.”Zambia left Kampala on a chartered plane hours after their crucial win that gives them a chance to defend their title. They will be involved in a friendly match with South Africa in November as part of their build up to the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Zambia won the title following their 9-8 penalty win over Ivory Coast that saw them crowned champions.Agencies
