As part of activities to mark the 25th anniversary since the formation of the ruling Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF), Gasabo District on Wednesday organised a creative arts competition pitting all fifteen sectors of the district. The competition, which involved poetry, singing, dancing and creative writing was based on Rwandan history and achievements. According to Joseph Nshimiye, the chairman of RPF in Gasabo District, the competition aims at recognising RPF’s achievements."The aim of this competition is to inform the public what RPF has achieved. The best way to impart this message is through artistes,” he added.A contestant, Seraphine Tuyisenge, who is also a secondary school teacher, commented: "My poem reflects the whole Rwandan history and liberation after a long time of suffering and struggling”. A dance troupe from Kimironko Sector emerged victorious followed by Gikomero, Kacyiru, Gisozi and Ndera in that order.
