Mauritania football team skipper Seydou Nourou M’bodj is a major doubt for Coach Alain Moizan for tomorrow’s 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.

The defensive midfielder injured his knee in training on Monday at Nyamirambo stadium, French-born Moizan said on Wednesday.

"Seydou suffered a knock on his knee during our first training in Rwanda. It’s unfortunate that I can’t get another player to replace Seydou.

"But I have not given up on having him for the game on Saturday. We have to wait for team doctor’s final say on the extent of his injury on Friday evening (today),” Moizan said.

Despite the disappointment of being without his most influential player, the Frenchman is ready to shock Rwandans in their own backyard.

Several Mauritanian players have been making scouts on their opponent; they have been seen at Amavubi Stars training sessions.
