FOLLOWING three defeats on the trot, Rayon Sport acting head coach Ali Bizimungu expressed his delight after his team secured its first win of the season. The Blues bounced back from back to back loses in the opening three league matches of the season with a narrow 1-0 victory against Marines at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu on Saturday."I am delighted not only with the result but the overall performance of my players because in the last three matches we were struggling to control proceedings."But we have shown strong character to come here and beat a side that we’ve not been lucky to defeat in recent years,” a relieved Bizimungu told Times Sport. The former Mukura coach added, "We made mistakes in the first three matches, but I hope with this win, we can turn the corner and start winning more than we lose.” It was the first win for Rayon since relocating to their original home in Nyanza and it comes as a big relief for the coach and the fans, who had seen their team lose to Amagaju (2-1), AS Kigali (3-1) and La Jeunesse (1-0). Burundian international Fuadi Ndayisenga scored the only goal of the game to help Rayon jump to eleventh position with three points."We corrected the mistakes we were making in the first three matches and, after this win, we are getting our confidence back,” acknowledged Bizimungu, who led the team to the pre-season Agaciro Development Fund trophy last month. Bizimungu’s first league win of the season as Rayon coach came just days after the resignation of his assistant Abdul Mbarushimana.
