Local leaders who are part of the coordination committee of the Joint Action Development Forum (JADF) in Burera District have completed a consultative meeting in which it was resolved to further strengthen cooperation with developmental partners.During the 2-day meeting, the local leaders were sensitized on ministerial instructions and regulations governing the functionality of JADF.It was facilitated by the Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) in collaboration with the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB)."In a bid to raise participation and accountability, we discussed relevant concepts including principles, vision and mission at this level of leadership,” Beatrice Mukasine, an advisor at SNV said.Mukasine said that a recent preliminary review indicated that JADF committees are fully functional at the district level but those at the sector level still need some reinforcement."A comprehensive survey is underway to establish the exact strengths and weaknesses at both levels and we are fully committed to strengthening them further,” she said.Julienne Uwamahoro, the Executive Secretary of Gahunga Sector, said that she is now fully aware of the expectations and contribution from developmental partners.
