Editor,I was pleased to read your article in The Sunday Times titled "PM urges nurses to observe ethics.” Please allow me, through your esteemed newspaper, to wish Rwamagana School of Nursing and Midwifery efficient staff and all the budding students of the school, hearty congratulations on their Golden Jubilee. As the Rt. Hon. Dr. Pierre Damien Habumuremyi, Prime Minister of Rwanda, remarked, the nursing profession is a noble one. He urged nurses to observe professional ethics, which is so important in today’s materialistic world. Not so long ago, the undersigned invited an outstanding student from the School of Finance and Banking, Kigali to attend an International Banking and Finance Conference organised by the Indian Merchants’ Chamber ( IMC), a Premier Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the country. To mark this important milestone, the undersigned would like to make a similar offer to the Principal of this School. The Travel and Tourism Committee of the IMC, in its endeavour to promote Medical Tourism between India and Rwanda, would be happy to explore avenues of bringing two outstanding students from the Rwamagana School of Nursing to undergo a comprehensive training in world renowned hospitals in Mumbai, like the Hiranandani Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Hinduja Hospital or the Asian Heart Institute.Should this idea be of interest, Principal Mukabaranga could kindly contact the undersigned, to take this further. Wishing the School continued success in the coming years!Clarence Fernandes
