October 13Namibia vs RwandaThe national team, Amavubi Stars, start training today at Amahoro stadium ahead of the International friendly match against Namibia on October 13 in Windhoek.However, the second game against Botswana, that had initially been scheduled for October 10, has been cancelled due to what the national football federation described as ‘administrative issues’.Botswana cited financial constraints and the game being close to their African Nation’s Cup qualifier against Mali, which is expected to be played on October 13 in Bamako.With Botswana out, Amavubi head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojovic has put focus on this weekend’s friendly against Namibia.According to Micho, the team starts training today with 26 players. They will train for three days before departing for Windhoek on Thursday.Among the players omitted from the 32-list initially summoned team include Vietnam-based Steven Emmanuel Godfroid Kunduma, 22, who made his debut for the national team this year.Heritier Heritier Manizabayo (Musanze) is another player, who has been omitted from the squad.Two Isonga players; Justin Mico and Robert Ndatimana are the other players who didn’t make the final cut.Meanwhile, Namibia’s Warriors coach Bernard Kaanjuka has called up 21 players to also start camp for Amavubi clash. All of the country’s foreign-based players, including Hansa Rostock’s Manfred Starke and University of Pretoria’s Ronald Ketjijere as well as Platinum Stars striker Henrico Botes were called up.Others include; Virgil Vries (Orlando Pirates), Efriam Tjihonge (Milano United, South Africa), Manfred Starke (Hansa Rostock, Germany), Tangeni Shipahu (TSOTSPA, Thailand) and Rudolf Bester (Orlando Pirates, South Africa).The two sides will meet again on November 11 in Kigali at Stade Amahoro in a return leg.Amavubi will use the friendly match to prepare for their Cecafa Challenge tournament due in Uganda as well as the next 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali on March 22.
