The national Karate team needs a staggering Rwf44 millions to take part in the World Championships scheduled for November 21-25 in the French capital Paris.According to Rwanda Karate Federation Technical Director, Guy Rurangayire, the money is for preparing the team, air tickets and allowances for the players and officials. The team of 18 players including 11 boys and 7 girls is already in residential camp.Meanwhile, Rurangayire also revealed that, if the money is got, the federation plans to call upon Quebec champion Janvier Katabarwa and France-based Pascal Munyamahoro to strengthen the team.Rurangayire said that the two payers have got vast experience which can help the team to do well at world championships."We are in process of inviting the two players, but all will depend on the availability of resources,” former national team star told Times Sport Tuesday.The team won two bronze medals in the just concluded Africa Karate Championships held in Morocco. Rehema Kabera won Kumite bronze medal, while Sylvestre Twajemahoro secured Kata bronze medal.Players (boys) in camp: Jean Claude Kumi, Jules Rutayisire, Eric Karegire, Vanily Ngarambe, Innocent Hatungimana, Didier Gaga Rukorera, Ismaël Nshimiyimana, Noel Nkuranyabahizi, Vincent Munyeshyaka, Sylvestre Twajamahoro, Jean Paul Shyirambere, Christian Rurangayire, Idrissa Barawigirira, Costa Bakundukize, Yves Bertrand Gusenga, Elie Nsengimana, Ulysse Karasira Sibo.Girls’ team: Claire Mukagakwerere, Razia Uwase, Aisha Umuhoza, Rehema Kabera, Olive Mukagatare, Solange and Gashagaza Uwase.
