It was a memorable evening as classical music lovers gathered at Ishyo Arts Centre at Kacyiru, recently, for the ‘Twentieth Century Chamber Music’ all to catch up the silky presentation by the Helmchen Hecker Trio. The beautifully lit stage, good turn up and the mood was just right -the evening set off as the audience enjoyed the smooth cruise into the rhythm of classical German and Austrian music of the 19th and 18th centuries.  Helmchen Hecker Trio’s performance was a powerful practice of showcasing artistes from its own ranks — and the group’s habit of programming rarely heard works. In this case, it was a sensational presentation not only touched the audience but also cheered them up as we were all astonished by how the instruments blended together to form a uniform rhythm so charming. The played pieces were by some of the great composers who include; George Fieldrich, Gabriel Fauré, David Ponchielli, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Isang Yun among others. Unlike usual concerts, this left a silent filled room with only the sounds of smooth rythem to listen to and of course the eyes to admire such skill at display. The trio which is dedicated to 20th century music, including music by the early avant-garde as well as contemporary position, has performed on prestigious stages around the world including the first performance they held in Kigali at Serena Lounge  on Tuesday this week. The show brought together, among others, students from Kigali Music School and their director who were part of the may inspired by the remarkable appearance. The show was organized by Goethe-Insitut in partnership with Ishyo Arts Centre.
