The National University of Rwanda (NUR) has signed a joint Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with eleven universities in Sweden recently.
The National University of Rwanda (NUR) has signed a joint Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with eleven universities in Sweden recently.The MoU which covers educational cooperation and academic research exchange, was signed when Prof. Silas Lwakabamba, NUR Rector, visited Sweden. The agreement will see partnership between NUR and Stockholm University, Swedish Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Gothenburg University and Umea University.Others will include; Linköping University, Lund University, Blekinge Institute of Technology, Jonköping University, Boras University and Orebro University.The agreement is the third phase (2013-2018) of bilateral cooperation between NUR and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. The cooperation that is estimated to cost US$ 41 million, has seen over 56 NUR staff go for PhD training and new courses introduced at the university.Lwakabamba also held discussions with the President of Karolinska Institutet, Prof Harriet Wallberg-Henriksson, on cooperation to promote medical and health research between the two institutions.
