Mamba Club, KimihururaKigali’s not known for its entertainment resources, but with the recent addition of a bowling alley this year, things are looking up! The owners of Mamba Club may want to consider this alley a labour of love. Pieces were dismantled from an existing bowling alley abroad and slowly made their way to Africa. Once the crates got through customs, the owners Kyle and Claudine worked at reassembling. The labour paid off, as we now have a fully functional bowling alley, complete with computer screens to keep score, funny looking shoes, and six lanes. Of course, there is one aspect that makes it a true Kigali experience…the men behind the pins who reset them after every ball you throw. It’s funny seeing an arm back there as the pins slowly get put into place, but relax, take a sip of your piña colada, and marvel at the fact that you’re bowling.Mamba Club is located in Kimihurura, just off the main residential road. Bowling is RWF 3000 per game, and RWF 1000 to rent the shoes. Reservations are a good idea for a weekend or if you’re coming with a large group. The atmosphere is nice and airy, and the menu is pretty good with frequent drink specials. Plus, with a new Mr. Chips across the way, how could you possibly go wrong?
