The European Union (EU) says it is firmly committed to its partnership with Rwanda in working to eradicate poverty in the country.It was responding to Tuesday's media reports attributed to Michael Mann, spokesman for EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, that said that the EU was suspending aid to Rwanda following allegations that the country is backing rebels in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.Kigali has denied links with M23 rebels.But in a statement issued on Wednesday in Kigali, the EU said "will continue its aid programme to Rwanda, implementing its existing projects designed to help the poor, including budget support.”It clarified that it is some new decisions concerning additional budget support that have been delayed.
