THE Rwanda Football Association (Ferwafa) will adopt the global player registration and competition management system, according to Chief Executive Officer Michel Gasingwa. With an alarming increase in discrepancies in players’ registration rife in Africa, Fifa is working hard to ensure that all African countries are linked to the international players tracking system that will reduce if not eliminate related issues. After attending a CAF seminar held in Tunisia, Gasingwa represented Rwanda which is among many countries that have not used the electronic systems to register their players. The national football league itself has had its fair share in the increasing cases of cheating in registration processes by both players and officials. Many players have gone as far as featuring in two separate leagues, mainly in Rwanda and DR Congo. The installation of the License plus system and connection will be implemented subsequent to training of clubs and Ferwafa staff. The Tunisia-based technology company, NARSIL Technology, is the company which won the tender to install and educate member associations of Fifa in Africa on the system.According to Gasingwa, the system will allow the local federation to have data capturing in ways it has never imagined and after 10 years, "you can come back and see who was registered with which club and for how long.He said Fifa wants to link the countries together in the future so that monitoring in Africa can easily avoid unnecessary issues such as age and cheating. The on-line system is easy, with clubs signed up to a required web-based network to match the details of any international player transactions and upload proof of payment, identification of agents involved and other documents to confirm a player’s new employer. The world football governing body believes that, as a result of this new system, auditing will be significantly easier because Fifa staff and national football officials can inspect players’ transfer deals from anywhere in the world with a simple login password.
