The Rwandan Community in Belgium will help raise funds in the ongoing Agaciro drive in an event slated for September 29 at the Rwandan embassy in the capital, Brussels. The spirit is high owing to good mobilisation by the Ambassador, Robert Masozera, and volunteers, a Brussels resident, Josephine Mpore, who is one of the organisers of the event, told The New Times in an interview last week."We are enthusiastically waiting for that day. When the news broke to us, it was more of an offer than a burden. Our future, our nationality, our identity cannot be negotiated. We found it easy to mobilise,” explained Mpore. The launch will be at two locations: one at the Embassy premises during the day and the other from Belgica, a Brussels surburb. According to Mpore, the modes of fundraising will involve pledging and buying items and food on sale at the reception in Belgica. The event will feature among others, models and East African beauty queens resident in Brussels. The event is estimated to bring together 600 people. Mpore explained that after the launch in Brussels, the campaign will target the rest of the European nation. Agaciro Development Fund is a home grown initiative to meet development needs sustainably.
