NATIONAL Volleyball team captain Christopher Mukunzi and Vincent Dusabimana aka Gasongo have joined Qatari first league, Times Sport has learnt.
NATIONAL Volleyball team captain Christopher Mukunzi and Vincent Dusabimana aka Gasongo have joined Qatari first league, Times Sport has learnt.According to the Rwanda Volleyball Federation Executive Secretary, Gertrude Kubwimana, Gasongo signed for An-Aghallfa Sports Club, while Mukunzi signed for Al-Arabi Sports Club both in the Qatari first division for undisclosed fee.The pair has been plying their trade in the Algerian first division league over the last two seasons. Former Rwanda National University star Gasongo has been playing for Etoile Sportive de Setif while former Kigali Volleyball player, Mukunzi, was with USM Alger.Both players left Kigali last week to join their respective teams. Another player, who may join professional ranks soon is Placide Sibomana ‘Madison’ of Lycée de Nyanza. He is a target for another unnamed Qatari club.Meanwhile, National team veteran Lawrence Guma Yakan is poised to remain in Algeria’s Etoile Sportive de Setif, at least for one season. Pierre Kwizera Marshall and Flavien Ndamukunda are still in unknown situation as they still wait their club El Mahia to recall them or to join other clubs.
