Rwandan students from the metro city of Bangalore are gearing up to put on an impressive performance at World Tourism Day 2012, which will be held at the Indian Merchants' Chamber, (IMC) in Mumbai on September 27.
Rwandan students from the metro city of Bangalore are gearing up to put on an impressive performance at World Tourism Day 2012, which will be held at the Indian Merchants' Chamber, (IMC) in Mumbai on September 27.In a statement from the Co-Chairman of the Tour and travel Committee at IMC, Clarence Fernandes, said the chamber lays emphasis on encouraging student community to showcase their talent and skills. For the flagship event this year, students from other countries were invited to participate.One of the students, Robert Manzi, said: "The Rwandan dancers will then take centre stage and I am delighted to showcase the rich cultural heritage of my country in front of such an esteemed audience at one of the oldest and well reputed chambers in India.""From the African continent, there will be student dancers from Rwanda, Botswana and South Africa. The evening will commence with a medley of welcome songs sung by the Choir from the Happy Home and School for the Blind in different languages. This will be followed by a welcome dance by an outstanding student who was recently crowned" Miss Xavier 2012," Fernandes said in a statement.The statement added that after adding Sri Lanka as official partners, IMC was working towards making Rwanda its new partner by next year.
