Editor,On Friday, the world marked the International Peace Day, with more calls for greater efforts to ensure a world that is at peace with itself. Looking around the world, so many countries and communities are at war, and the main victim has always been the ordinary citizen. I appeal to world leaders to work harder to address the causes of conflict anywhere.Closer to home, I urge leaders in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to sit down with their citizens and identify the root causes of the recurrent conflicts in that part of the world, particularly in the country’s eastern region. It is from there that a viable solution can be reached without any further bloodbath.God bless the Great Lakes Region.Joy Kamikazi,Kampala
