Editor,Reference is made to the story published in The New Times of yesterday, under the headline, "USAID commits to fund behavioral change programmes”.USAID Mission Director, Peter Malnak, attended the closing ceremony of the Behavioral Change and Social Marketing (BCSM) project led by PSI, and funded by USAID. Mr. Malnak congratulated Population Services International (PSI), the Ministry of Health, and the involved Rwandan Partner Organizations (RPOs) on their accomplishments over the duration of the 5-year program and noted that USAID was proud to partner with all of the organizations in their efforts, and looks forward to future collaboration. While USAID is hopeful about the work of Society for Family Health – a new Rwandan NGO which will continue the work of the Behavior Change and Social Marketing Project – USAID has not committed any funds to the Society for Family Health at this time.
